Staff Playlists for Swim, Bike, Run, and MTB Workouts

Nothing gets us moving like a great playlist! Whether you enjoy electronic, rock, indie, R&B, or punk – our staff picks offer something for everyone.

Shannan’s Mountain Bike Playlist

I love blasting my favorite music in the car with the windows rolled down on my way to the trails. These songs PUMP me up for shredding! I don’t listen to music while I ride on the trails because I socialize with other riders, listen to nature sounds, and make myself fully present in the moment. Like mountain biking, music takes me places and I enjoy both of these experiences separately.

Looking at my picks, you can probably tell that I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s. My musical tastes can vary, but are mainly based on alternative and independent rock artists. Blend that with some classic rock, pop, and R&B, and you get a playlist that motivates me to rip down the trail.

For fun, I tied in a few of my favorite songs that have a thematic connection to mountain biking. For example, “Root Down” by Beastie Boys, “Rollercoaster” by Sleater-Kinney, and “Whip It” by DEVO. If you’re a little familiar with mountain bike lingo and South Florida terrain, you’ll get the references!

I hope this playlist motivates you like it does for me. What do you like to listen to when you’re riding or on your way to the ride?

Tommy's Playlist for Long Training Days on the BikeTommy’s Picks for Long Training Days

MTV played music videos. Your portable CD player skipped on bus rides. Cell phones weren’t a thing yet. 90’s Alternative Rock is where it’s at for Tommy. Training for IronMan races, he could spend 6+ hours a day on the bike. So, to power his endurance rides, Tommy’s go-to’s were Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, and more. Hop into the time travel machine with Tommy and revisit the 90’s on your next long day on the bike!
